There are SO many important decisions to make (and stress over) when planning your wedding. The reception timeline and making sure it runs smoothly… doesn’t need to be one of them! Our DJ’s are organized, professional and ready to keep your reception on schedule, while ensuring a lively and fun evening for everyone. Trust us to handle the transitions while you celebrate and enjoy your guests.
The actual timeline and specific events you want to include at the reception are 100% customizable. We will prepare your list of priorities and depending on the format of your reception (cocktail hour or straight to dinner?), when those events will begin. Once you enter the reception location, our DJ’s are ready to take the lead. Here is a typical wedding reception timeline with events:
Cocktail Hour: Snacks/drinks while guests wait (Often utilized when wedding party is taking photos after ceremony)
Grand Entrance: Introducing the wedding party to the reception guests
Blessing of the Meal: (If you chose to do so)
Toasts: Speeches given by Wedding party and/or Family
Cake Cutting: Bride and groom cut the cake
First Dance: Bride and groom’s first dance together
Anniversary Dance: All couples are invited to the dance floor and the DJ calls out wedding anniversary years. Couples leave the dance floor until the longest married couple is left dancing. This is a wonderful way to get everyone on the dance floor and celebrate marriage.
Open Dance Floor: DJ will open up the dance floor and invite guests up to start the fun!
Bouquet Toss: Toss the bouquet to all the single ladies!Garter Toss: Toss the garter to all the single men!
Games: If you choose to have any games played, Shoe game/scavenger hunt
Last Dance: Final dance of the night which can be done with all guests or solely the bride and groom.
End of Reception
Remember that you can choose to do any or all of these at your reception. We will plan the event to be exactly as you want it to be! The reception should be the stress-free party at the end of your memorable day! You can trust us to handle the details and we’ll be sure that everyone has FUN!
